Cheesy Beef Toasts
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- ¼ cup tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 8 slices thick bread
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened.
- Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease if necessary.
- Season the beef with salt, black pepper, paprika, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
- Add the tomato paste, tomato sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix everything together and let the beef simmer for 3–5 minutes until flavorful and slightly saucy.
- Place the bread slices on a baking sheet. Lightly butter each slice.
- Spoon the savory beef mixture generously over each piece of bread.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the beef.
- Bake for 8–12 minutes, or until the bread is toasted around the edges and the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve immediately while hot.
