Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 can crushed pineapple, 20 ounces, with juice
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar, optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil, optional

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the inside of your slow cooker.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in the bottom of the crockpot.
  3. Sprinkle the chicken with garlic powder, black pepper, and the dry onion soup mix.
  4. Pour the entire can of crushed pineapple, including the juice, over the chicken.
  5. If you prefer a sweeter sauce, sprinkle the brown sugar over the top.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 2½–3½ hours, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. Remove the chicken and let it rest for a few minutes. Spoon some of the pineapple sauce over the top before serving.
  8. Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or your favorite side.

 Tip

For extra flavor, you can sear the chicken breasts in a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side before placing them in the slow cooker. This adds a beautiful golden color and deeper flavor.
