Slow Cooker Ham and Swiss Chicken
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 slices ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup seasoned stuffing mix (optional)
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
Instructions
- Spray the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Lay one slice of ham and one slice of Swiss cheese over each chicken breast.
- In a bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup and chicken broth. Pour over the chicken.
- If using stuffing, sprinkle it evenly over the top and drizzle with melted butter.
- Cover and cook on Low for 6–7 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
- Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.
Tips
- Add sliced mushrooms for extra flavor.
- Substitute turkey ham if preferred.
- For a thicker sauce, stir in 2 tablespoons of cream cheese during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
