Big Mac Tater Tot Casserole
All the classic Big Mac flavors in one cheesy, crispy casserole! Perfect for family dinners, game day, or whenever you’re craving comfort food.
Ingredients (Serves 6–8)
For the Beef Layer:
- 2 lbs lean ground beef (90/10)
- 1 cup finely diced yellow onion
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
For the “Big Mac” Sauce:
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp yellow mustard
- 2 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
For the Casserole:
- 2 cups shredded American cheese or cheddar
- 1 cup chopped dill pickles
- 1 bag frozen tater tots (about 32 oz)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
Toppings:
- 1½ cups shredded iceberg lettuce
- Extra Big Mac sauce
- Extra pickles if desired
Instructions
Prepare the Beef
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large skillet over medium-high heat:
- Cook the ground beef and diced onions until beef is browned.
- Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Drain excess grease if needed.
Make the Special Sauce
In a bowl, whisk together:
- mayonnaise
- ketchup
- mustard
- relish
- vinegar
- paprika
- garlic powder
- onion powder
Set aside about ⅓ cup for topping later.
Assemble the Casserole
Grease a 9×13 baking dish.
Layer in this order:
- Beef mixture
- Chopped pickles
- Half the special sauce
- Shredded cheese
- Frozen tater tots in a single layer on top
Bake
Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes until:
- tater tots are crispy and golden
- cheese is melted
- casserole is bubbling
For extra crispiness, broil 2–3 minutes at the end.
Finish & Serve
Top with:
- shredded lettuce
- drizzle of reserved sauce
- sesame seeds
- extra pickles
Serve immediately while crispy and hot!
