These buttery, cheesy French Dip Biscuits are stuffed with tender roast beef and melty provolone cheese, then baked until golden and served with warm au jus for dipping. Perfect for lunch, dinner, game day, or an easy family meal!
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated biscuits (8-count)
- 1 lb thinly sliced deli roast beef
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp creamy horseradish sauce
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Optional: parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Separate each biscuit into two thin layers.
- Spread a little horseradish sauce on each biscuit layer.
- Add a slice of provolone cheese and some roast beef onto half of the biscuit layers.
- Place the remaining biscuit layers on top and pinch the edges tightly to seal.
- Arrange the stuffed biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
- Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush over the tops.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Prepare the au jus gravy according to package directions while the biscuits bake.
- Serve warm with the hot au jus on the side for dipping.
Tips
- Use cheddar, pepper jack, or mozzarella instead of provolone if you like.
- Add sautéed onions or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- These also work great in the air fryer at 370°F for about 8–10 minutes.
A lot of home cooks online recommend brushing the tops with melted butter after baking for extra flavor and softness.
For a creamier kick, some versions mix horseradish with mayo or Dijon mustard before spreading it inside the biscuits.
