Cheesy Ground Beef Rice Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (10.5 oz / 300g) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cook the beef
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook until soft. Add garlic and ground beef, cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. - Prepare the mixture
Stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and milk. Mix well. - Assemble
Pour everything into a greased baking dish. Cover with foil. - Bake
Bake for 45–50 minutes, until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed. - Add cheese
Remove foil, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes until melted and bubbly.
Tips
- Add vegetables like peas, carrots, or bell peppers for extra flavor
- Swap cheddar with mozzarella for a stretchier texture
- Use cooked rice to cut baking time in half
