Easy Broccoli Salad

Time

  • Prep: 10–15 minutes
  • Chill (optional): 30–60 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets (raw, bite-sized)
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • ½ cup cooked bacon, crumbled (optional)
  • ¼–½ cup dried cranberries or raisins
  • ¼ cup sunflower seeds or sliced almonds

For the dressing:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp yogurt or sour cream (optional, for lighter taste)
  • 1–2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1–2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Salt & black pepper

This combo of crunchy broccoli, sweet dried fruit, and creamy dressing is the classic flavor profile.

 Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add broccoli, onion, bacon, dried fruit, and seeds.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk all dressing ingredients until smooth.
  3. Pour dressing over the salad and mix well.
  4. Chill for at least 30 minutes (optional but recommended).
  5. Serve cold and enjoy!

 Tips

  • No cooking needed—use raw broccoli for crunch.
  • It tastes even better after sitting in the fridge for a while.
  • You can make it healthier by replacing mayo with yogurt.

Variations

  • Add cheese cubes (cheddar) for richness
  • Use apples or grapes for extra sweetness
  • Make it vegetarian by skipping bacon
