Pizza Burrito (Italian–Mexican Fusion)
Ingredients:
For the filling:
- 2 large flour tortillas
- 1 cup (100–120 g) shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup pizza sauce (or seasoned tomato sauce)
- ½ cup cooked ground beef or chicken (seasoned with taco spices)
- ¼ cup pepperoni slices (optional)
- ¼ cup sliced bell peppers
- ¼ cup sliced onions
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to taste)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
For cooking:
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
Instructions:
- Prepare the filling:
- If using ground meat, cook it in a pan with salt, pepper, and taco seasoning until nicely browned.
- Assemble the burrito:
- Lay a tortilla flat and spread pizza sauce over it.
- Add mozzarella cheese, cooked meat, pepperoni, bell peppers, and onions.
- Sprinkle oregano and chili flakes on top.
- Wrap it:
- Fold in the sides and roll tightly like a burrito to seal everything inside.
- Cook:
- Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil or butter.
- Place the burrito seam-side down and cook until golden and crispy, about 3–4 minutes per side, until the cheese is melted.
Serving:
- Slice in half and serve hot.
- Add extra dipping sauces like cheese sauce, ranch, or spicy sauce if you like.
Tips:
- Make it vegetarian by replacing the meat with mushrooms or grilled veggies.
- Add olives for a more “pizza-style” flavor.
- For extra crispiness, finish it in a preheated oven (180°C / 350°F) for 5 minutes.
Result: Crispy on the outside, cheesy and flavorful inside—a perfect mashup of pizza and burrito!
