Fried Bologna Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 4 slices white or sourdough bread
  • 4 slices bologna
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp mustard

Instructions

  1. Prep the bread
    Spread mayonnaise on one side of each slice of bread. On the other side, spread a little mustard (adjust to taste).
  2. Cook the bologna
    • Heat a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add a small amount of butter.
    • Place the bologna slices in the pan.
    • Fry for about 1–2 minutes per side until slightly crispy.
      (Tip: Make small cuts on the edges so they don’t curl up.)
  3. Assemble the sandwich
    • Place cheddar cheese on top of the hot bologna slices so it starts to melt.
    • Stack the bologna and cheese onto the bread (mayo side facing in).
  4. Grill the sandwich
    • Butter the outside of the bread.
    • Place the sandwich in the skillet.
    • Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve
    Slice in half and enjoy hot!

 Optional Add-Ons

  • Fried egg
  • Caramelized onions
  • Pickles or lettuce for crunch
