 Tender Chicken Wrapped in Tortillas with Creamy Cheese Sauce

 Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the creamy cheese sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a mix)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste

 Instructions

1. Prepare the filling

  • In a bowl, mix:
    • Cooked chicken
    • Cream cheese
    • Sour cream
    • Garlic powder & onion powder
    • Salt & pepper
  • Stir until creamy and well combined.

2. Assemble the tortillas

  • Lay out tortillas and divide the chicken mixture evenly.
  • Sprinkle some shredded cheese on top.
  • Roll tightly into wraps and place seam-side down in a baking dish.

3. Make the cheese sauce

  • In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in milk until smooth.
  • Cook until thickened, then add cheese and stir until melted.
  • Season with paprika, salt, and pepper.

4. Bake

  • Pour the cheese sauce over the rolled tortillas.
  • Sprinkle extra cheese on top.
  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.

Serving Tips

  • Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions
  • Serve with a fresh salad or spicy sauce
