 Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes

 Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 small onion (diced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (diced)
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • 6 slices provolone cheese (or mozzarella)
  • 4–6 burger buns

Optional: mushrooms, garlic, or steak seasoning for extra flavor

 Instructions

1. Cook the beef

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
  • Drain excess fat.

2. Cook the veggies

  • Add butter, onion, and bell pepper to the pan.
  • Cook until soft and slightly golden.

3. Make the sauce

  • Sprinkle cornstarch over the mixture and stir.
  • Pour in beef broth, then add ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Simmer until thick and saucy.

4. Add cheese

  • Place slices of cheese on top and let them melt into the mixture.

5. Assemble

  • Spoon the cheesy beef onto toasted buns.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

  • This recipe is a quick 30-minute meal and a fun twist on classic sloppy joes
  • Using ground beef instead of steak makes it more budget-friendly but still full of flavor
  • Toast the buns to keep them from getting soggy
