Creamy Mushroom Smothered Beef Patties
Ingredients:
For the beef patties:
- 1 lb (500g) ground beef
- 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp chopped parsley (optional)
For the creamy mushroom sauce:
- 8 oz (250g) mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp mustard (optional)
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter or oil for cooking
Instructions:
1. Prepare the patties:
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, and spices
- Shape into patties (like burgers)
- Heat oil or butter in a pan and cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side until browned
- Remove and set aside (they don’t need to be fully cooked yet)
2. Make the mushroom sauce:
- In the same pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft
- Add mushrooms and cook until tender
- Pour in heavy cream and beef broth
- Add soy sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper
- Let it simmer until the sauce thickens
3. Combine:
- Return the patties to the pan
- Cover and simmer for 10–15 minutes until fully cooked and coated in sauce
