Creamy Mushroom Smothered Beef Patties

 Ingredients:

For the beef patties:

  • 1 lb (500g) ground beef
  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chopped parsley (optional)

 For the creamy mushroom sauce:

  • 8 oz (250g) mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp mustard (optional)
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Butter or oil for cooking

 Instructions:

1. Prepare the patties:

  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, and spices
  • Shape into patties (like burgers)
  • Heat oil or butter in a pan and cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side until browned
  • Remove and set aside (they don’t need to be fully cooked yet)

2. Make the mushroom sauce:

  • In the same pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft
  • Add mushrooms and cook until tender
  • Pour in heavy cream and beef broth
  • Add soy sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper
  • Let it simmer until the sauce thickens

3. Combine:

  • Return the patties to the pan
  • Cover and simmer for 10–15 minutes until fully cooked and coated in sauce

 Serving ideas:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Or crusty bread
