Congo Bars Chewy Chocolate Chip Bars
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ⅔ cup butter (melted)
- 2¼ cups brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- (Optional) ½–1 cup chopped nuts
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine melted butter + brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
- Spread the batter evenly into a greased baking pan (about 9×13 inch).
- Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden on top.
- Let cool, then cut into bars and enjoy
Tips:
- Don’t overbake → they should stay soft and chewy.
- You can mix chocolate chips + white chocolate or butterscotch for more flavor.
- These are like a mix between brownies and cookies blondies
