 Congo Bars Chewy Chocolate Chip Bars

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ⅔ cup butter (melted)
  • 2¼ cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • (Optional) ½–1 cup chopped nuts

 Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine melted butter + brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each.
  5. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
  8. Spread the batter evenly into a greased baking pan (about 9×13 inch).
  9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden on top.
  10. Let cool, then cut into bars and enjoy

 Tips:

  • Don’t overbake → they should stay soft and chewy.
  • You can mix chocolate chips + white chocolate or butterscotch for more flavor.
  • These are like a mix between brownies and cookies blondies
