 Layered Sweet Potato Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2–3 large sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (cut into small pieces)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

 Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes
    • Peel the sweet potatoes
    • Boil them for about 15 minutes until slightly tender
  2. Slice
    • Let them cool, then cut into medium slices (about 1–1.5 cm thick)
  3. Layering
    • Grease a baking dish
    • Add a layer of sweet potatoes
    • Sprinkle brown sugar + a few pieces of butter
    • Repeat layers until everything is used
  4. Season
    • Add cinnamon, salt, and vanilla optional but вкус
  5. Bake
    • Bake at 180°C (350–375°F) for 30–40 minutes until soft and caramelized

 Tips to make it even better

  • Add nuts (pecans or walnuts) for crunch
  • Add a little cream or milk for a richer texture
  • For a dessert vibe: top with marshmallows last 5 minutes

 Result

Soft, buttery layers with sweet caramel flavor — super easy and perfect as a side dish or even dessert.
