Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient Ham and Beans
Ingredients
- 1 lb dried beans (navy beans or great northern beans)
- 2 cups cooked ham (cubed or shredded)
- 4–6 cups water (or broth for more flavor)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Beans
- Rinse the dried beans and remove any dirt or small stones
- (Optional) Soak overnight for softer texture
2. Add to Slow Cooker
- Put the beans, ham, and water (or broth) into the slow cooker
3. Cook
- Cook on LOW for 8–10 hours
(or HIGH for 5–6 hours) until beans are tender
4. Finish
- Stir well, taste, and add salt/pepper if needed
- If you used a ham bone, remove it, shred the meat, and return it
Tips
- Using broth instead of water = more flavor
- Ham bone gives richer taste
- Beans get creamier the longer they cook
