Slow Cooker Ham and Swiss Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 slices ham
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz / 300 g) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup seasoned stuffing mix (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spray the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  4. Lay one slice of ham and one slice of Swiss cheese over each chicken breast.
  5. In a bowl, mix the cream of chicken soup and chicken broth. Pour over the chicken.
  6. If using stuffing, sprinkle it evenly over the top and drizzle with melted butter.
  7. Cover and cook on Low for 6–7 hours or High for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked.
  8. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or steamed vegetables.

Tips

  • Add sliced mushrooms for extra flavor.
  • Substitute turkey ham if preferred.
  • For a thicker sauce, stir in 2 tablespoons of cream cheese during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
