Slow Cooker 3-Ingredient French Dip Sandwiches
Ingredients:
- 1.2–1.5 kg beef chuck roast
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- 1 packet dry onion soup mix
- 6–8 sandwich rolls (hoagie or French rolls)
(Optional: sliced provolone or mozzarella cheese)
Instructions:
- Prepare the beef:
Place the beef chuck roast in your slow cooker. - Add seasoning:
Sprinkle the au jus mix and dry onion soup mix evenly over the meat. - Cook:
Cover and cook on:- Low: 8–10 hours
- High: 4–5 hours
The beef should be very tender and easy to shred.
- Shred the meat:
Remove the beef and shred it using two forks. Return it to the slow cooker and mix it with the juices. - Prepare the sandwiches:
- Slice the rolls and lightly toast them if you like.
- Fill with shredded beef.
- Add cheese (optional) and let it melt.
- Serve with au jus:
Pour the cooking liquid into small bowls for dipping.
Tips:
- For extra flavor, you can add a splash of Worcestershire sauce or garlic.
- Skim excess fat from the juice before serving if needed.
- Toasting the bread helps prevent it from getting soggy.
