The Ultimate Slow Cooker Amish Sausage and Noodle Bake

Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 2 cups egg noodles (uncooked)
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup frozen peas and carrots (optional but recommended)
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt, to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Prep the base
Add the sliced sausage, chopped onion, garlic, and butter to your slow cooker. - Add liquids & seasoning
Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream.
Add paprika, black pepper, and a pinch of salt. Stir well. - Cook
Cover and cook on:- Low: 5–6 hours
- High: 2.5–3 hours
- Add noodles
About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the uncooked egg noodles and frozen vegetables.
Make sure the noodles are mostly submerged in liquid. - Finish with cheese
Once the noodles are tender, stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.
Let it melt and become creamy (about 5–10 minutes). - Serve
Give it a final stir and taste for seasoning. Serve hot and enjoy!
Tips
- If it gets too thick, add a splash of broth or milk.
- You can swap cheddar for mozzarella or a cheese blend.
- Want more flavor? Add a pinch of dried thyme or parsley.
