Philly Cheese Steak Sloppy Joes
Ingredients
- 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
- 1 small onion (diced)
- 1 green bell pepper (diced)
- 2 tbsp butter or oil
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch (or flour)
- 1 cup beef broth
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- 6 slices provolone cheese (or mozzarella)
- 4–6 burger buns
Optional: mushrooms, garlic, or steak seasoning for extra flavor
Instructions
1. Cook the beef
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Drain excess fat.
2. Cook the veggies
- Add butter, onion, and bell pepper to the pan.
- Cook until soft and slightly golden.
3. Make the sauce
- Sprinkle cornstarch over the mixture and stir.
- Pour in beef broth, then add ketchup and Worcestershire sauce.
- Simmer until thick and saucy.
4. Add cheese
- Place slices of cheese on top and let them melt into the mixture.
5. Assemble
- Spoon the cheesy beef onto toasted buns.
- Serve hot and enjoy!

- This recipe is a quick 30-minute meal and a fun twist on classic sloppy joes
