Layered Sweet Potato Casserole
Ingredients
- 2–3 large sweet potatoes
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (cut into small pieces)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the potatoes
- Peel the sweet potatoes
- Boil them for about 15 minutes until slightly tender
- Slice
- Let them cool, then cut into medium slices (about 1–1.5 cm thick)
- Layering
- Grease a baking dish
- Add a layer of sweet potatoes
- Sprinkle brown sugar + a few pieces of butter
- Repeat layers until everything is used
- Season
- Add cinnamon, salt, and vanilla optional but вкус

- Bake at 180°C (350–375°F) for 30–40 minutes until soft and caramelized
Tips to make it even better
- Add nuts (pecans or walnuts) for crunch
- Add a little cream or milk for a richer texture
