My Amish Neighbor Shared This Slow Cooker Chicken Recipe
Tender, juicy chicken breasts slow-cooked in a rich, buttery garlic sauce until golden and flavorful. It’s an easy, comforting dinner that practically cooks itself.
Ingredients
- 4–6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine the paprika, Italian seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the chicken.
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
- Mix the melted butter, minced garlic, chicken broth, olive oil, and lemon juice, then pour the mixture around and over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 3–4 hours, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- For the golden, slightly browned finish shown in the photo, transfer the cooked chicken to a baking sheet and broil for 2–4 minutes, watching closely.
- Spoon some of the buttery garlic juices over the chicken before serving.
Serving idea: Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, roasted vegetables, or green beans to soak up all that delicious garlic-butter sauce.
