Queso Dip (Queso Blanco Dip)
Queso Dip, also known as Queso Blanco Dip, is a Mexican restaurant-quality, smooth, and creamy dipping cheese. This delicious ten-minute recipe is perfect with fresh tortilla chips, spooned over your favorite burrito, or poured over steamed broccoli.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound white American cheese, cubed
- ½ cup milk
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 small jalapeño, finely diced (optional)
- 1 tablespoon diced green chiles (optional)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon ground cumin
- Salt, to taste
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- Add the cubed white American cheese, milk, heavy cream, and butter to a saucepan.
- Warm over low heat, stirring frequently, until the cheese is completely melted and smooth. Do not let the mixture boil.
- Stir in the jalapeño, green chiles, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin.
- Continue cooking for 1–2 minutes, stirring until everything is well combined.
- If the queso is too thick, add a splash of milk and stir until it reaches your desired consistency.
- Taste and season with salt as needed.
- Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve warm.
