 Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 medium onion, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes, optional
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

 Instructions

  1. Add the chicken pieces to a large bowl.
  2. Add the grated onion, garlic, yogurt, olive oil, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and lemon juice.
  3. Mix everything really well until the chicken is completely coated.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. For the best flavor and tenderness, marinate overnight.
  5. Thread the marinated chicken onto wooden skewers. If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for about 30 minutes beforehand.
  6. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 3–5 minutes.
  7. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and arrange the chicken skewers in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding.
  8. Air fry for 12–16 minutes, turning the skewers halfway through, until the chicken is beautifully browned and cooked through.
  9. For extra color, cook for another 1–2 minutes at the end if needed.
  10. Let the kebabs rest for a few minutes before serving.
