Cheesy Ground Beef Roll
A delicious homemade bread roll filled with seasoned ground beef, fresh herbs, and melted mozzarella cheese. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or a hearty snack.
Ingredients
For the dough
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For the filling
- 1 pound (500 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- ½ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon cumin
- Salt to taste
For the topping
- 1 egg yolk
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let the mixture rest for about 10 minutes.
- Add the flour, salt, and olive oil, then knead the dough until it becomes soft and smooth.
- Cover the dough and allow it to rise for about 1 hour.
- Cook the onion and ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Add the bell pepper, tomato paste, parsley, and seasonings, then stir well.
- Roll the dough into a large rectangle and spread the filling evenly over the surface.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of the meat mixture.
- Carefully roll the dough into a log shape and brush the top with the egg yolk.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 30 to 35 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
