Slow Cooker Green Beans, Potatoes & Smoked Sausage
A delicious, hearty, and comforting slow cooker meal made with tender potatoes, fresh green beans, and smoky sausage simmered together in a flavorful broth. This easy one-pot dinner is perfect for busy weeknights!
Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) smoked sausage, sliced into thick rounds
- 1½ lbs (680 g) baby potatoes, cut into halves or quarters
- 1 lb (450 g) fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into pieces
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Wash and trim the green beans. Cut the potatoes into bite-sized pieces and slice the smoked sausage.
- Layer the slow cooker: Add the potatoes to the bottom of the slow cooker. Place the green beans, chopped onion, and smoked sausage on top.
- Add the seasoning: Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning.
- Add the liquid: Pour in the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce. Add the butter and minced garlic.
- Slow cook: Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the potatoes are tender and the green beans are cooked to your preferred texture.
- Serve: Gently stir everything together and serve hot with some of the flavorful broth spooned over the top.
Tip
For extra flavor, brown the smoked sausage in a skillet before adding it to the slow cooker. You can also add a little crispy bacon for an even richer, smokier taste.
