Texas Gulf Shrimp Ceviche Jar
Ingredients
- 1 lb cooked shrimp, peeled and chopped
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1 cup cucumber, diced
- ½ cup tomato, diced
- ¼ cup red onion, finely minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- Juice of 3 limes
- 1 jalapeño, finely minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, cucumber, tomato, red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.
- Pour the fresh lime juice over the mixture and toss gently to coat.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add a few dashes of hot sauce if desired.
- Fold in the diced avocado just before serving to keep it from becoming mushy.
- Spoon the ceviche into individual jars or serving glasses.
- Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
- Serve cold with tortilla chips, crackers, or tostadas.
