Texas Gulf Shrimp Ceviche Jar

Ingredients

  • 1 lb cooked shrimp, peeled and chopped
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1 cup cucumber, diced
  • ½ cup tomato, diced
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 3 limes
  • 1 jalapeño, finely minced
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, cucumber, tomato, red onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.
  2. Pour the fresh lime juice over the mixture and toss gently to coat.
  3. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add a few dashes of hot sauce if desired.
  4. Fold in the diced avocado just before serving to keep it from becoming mushy.
  5. Spoon the ceviche into individual jars or serving glasses.
  6. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 15–30 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
  7. Serve cold with tortilla chips, crackers, or tostadas.
