Roasted Cabbage Steaks with Cheese & Spices

A simple, flavorful side dish made with thick cabbage slices roasted until tender and golden, then topped with melted cheese and savory seasonings.

Ingredients

  • 1 large green cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Remove any damaged outer leaves from the cabbage and slice it into ¾-inch thick steaks.
  3. Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Brush both sides with olive oil.
  5. In a small bowl, mix garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over the cabbage steaks.
  7. Roast for 20–25 minutes, carefully flipping halfway through cooking.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over each steak.
  9. Return to the oven and bake for another 5–7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
