Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900 g) pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • Optional garnish: sesame seeds, chopped green onions

Instructions

1) Prep the ribs

  • Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs for tenderness.
  • Pat dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.

2) Make the honey garlic sauce

  • In a bowl, whisk: honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, ketchup, vinegar, and olive oil.

3) First bake (tenderize)

  • Line a tray with foil. Place ribs on it and cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake for 1 hour 45 minutes until very tender.

4) Glaze & caramelize

  • Remove foil. Brush ribs generously with the sauce.
  • Increase oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • Return ribs uncovered for 15–20 minutes, brushing once more halfway, until sticky and caramelized.

5) Rest & serve

  • Rest 5–10 minutes. Slice between bones.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top.

Tips for Extra Sticky Ribs

  • Simmer leftover sauce 3–5 minutes to thicken, then brush on at the end.
  • For charred edges, broil 2–3 minutes (watch closely).
  • Best served with rice, fries, or a crisp salad.
