Stuffed Chicken Buns

Ingredients

For the Dough:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg

For the Chicken Filling:

  • 2 cups cooked shredded chicken
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce or chili sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil

Optional:

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Sesame seeds for topping

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk, warm water, oil, and egg.
  3. Knead for 8–10 minutes until soft and smooth.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

2. Make the Filling

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Cook onion and bell pepper until soft.
  3. Add garlic and shredded chicken.
  4. Stir in ketchup, mayonnaise, hot sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Cook for 3–4 minutes, then let cool slightly.

3. Shape the Buns

  1. Divide dough into equal balls.
  2. Flatten each ball and add chicken filling in the center.
  3. Add cheese if using.
  4. Seal tightly and place seam-side down on a baking tray.

4. Bake

  1. Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds.
  2. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

Serve warm and enjoy
