French Onion Sausage Rolls

Serves: 6

Ingredients:

500 g sausage meat

1 sheet puff pastry

150 g onion, finely sliced

10 g butter

5 g garlic, minced

50 g cream cheese

80 g grated mozzarella cheese

10 g Worcestershire sauce

5 g thyme

3 g salt

2 g black pepper

1 egg, beaten

Method:

1. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Add sliced onion and cook slowly for 10–12 minutes until caramelized. Stir in garlic and thyme and cook for 1 minute.

2. Add sausage meat to the pan and cook until browned. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Let the mixture cool slightly.

3. Stir in cream cheese and mozzarella until well combined.

4. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into rectangles. Spoon the sausage filling along one side and roll tightly to seal.

5. Slice into bite-sized rolls and place on a lined baking tray. Brush with beaten egg.

6. Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
