Seeded No-Knead Jar Bread
A super easy, crusty, bakery-style bread made without kneading. Just mix, wait, and bake!
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 3 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
- 1½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp instant yeast
- 1¼ to 1½ cups warm water
Seeds (mix as you like):
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
- 2 tbsp pumpkin seeds
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
Instructions (No Kneading Required)
1) Mix everything
- In a large jar or bowl, add flour, salt, yeast, and seeds
- Pour in warm water gradually
- Stir with a spoon until you get a sticky dough (don’t knead)
2) First rise (fermentation)
- Cover the jar loosely with plastic wrap or a lid
- Leave at room temperature for 8–18 hours
- The dough should double in size and become bubbly
3) Shape the dough
- Lightly flour your surface
- Gently remove the dough (don’t over-handle it)
- Shape into a round loaf
- Add extra seeds on top if you like
4) Second rise
- Let it rest for 30–60 minutes
- It will puff up slightly
5) Bake
- Preheat oven to 230°C (450°F)
- Bake in a Dutch oven or covered baking dish
Baking time:
- 30 minutes covered
- 15–20 minutes uncovered until golden brown
Result:
- Crispy crust on the outside
- Soft, airy, hole-filled inside
- Rich nutty flavor from the seeds
Tips:
- If dough is too dry → add a little water
- If too sticky → add a bit of flour
- Do NOT knead the dough
- Longer fermentation (up to 18 hours) = better flavor
