Oven-Baked Egg Toast

A quick and delicious breakfast recipe with crispy toast, melty cheese, and perfectly baked eggs. Perfect for busy mornings or a cozy brunch!

Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread or toast
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: bacon bits, parsley, chili flakes, diced tomatoes, or sausage

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Lightly butter both sides of the bread slices and place them on a baking tray.
  3. Use the back of a spoon to gently press the center of each slice, creating a small space for the egg.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheese around the edges of the bread.
  5. Crack one egg into the center of each toast.
  6. Season with salt and pepper. Add any extra toppings you like.
  7. Bake for 10–15 minutes, depending on how runny or firm you want the yolk.
  8. Remove from the oven, garnish with parsley or chili flakes, and serve warm.

Tips

  • For extra crispy toast, lightly toast the bread before baking.
  • Add avocado slices or hot sauce before serving for more flavor.
  • Use thick bread so it holds the egg better.
