Ingredients
- 9–12 lasagna noodles (uncooked)
- 500 g ground beef (or ground turkey)
- 1 jar (about 650–700 g) marinara sauce
- 1½ cups ricotta cheese (or cottage cheese)
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Cook the meat
In a pan over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. - Add sauce
Stir the marinara sauce into the cooked meat and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes. - Layer in the slow cooker
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom
- Add a layer of uncooked noodles (break to fit if needed)
- Spread some ricotta cheese
- Sprinkle mozzarella
- Repeat layers until ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella on top
- Cook
Cover and cook:- Low: 4–6 hours
- High: 2–3 hours
- Rest before serving
Let it sit for 10–15 minutes before slicing—this helps it hold together.
Tips
- You can add Italian seasoning or garlic powder if you want extra flavor (optional).
- Cottage cheese works great if you don’t have ricotta.
- For a richer taste, mix a little Parmesan into the mozzarella.
