Crispy Breaded Chicken Fillets
Ingredients
For the Chicken:
- 2 large chicken breasts (sliced into fillets)
- Salt & black pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Breading Station:
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1/2 tsp oregano or Italian seasoning
Instructions
1. Prepare the chicken
- Slice the chicken breasts into even fillets.
- Season both sides with salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Let them rest for 10–15 minutes so the flavors absorb.
2. Set up the breading station
Place three bowls:
- Bowl 1: flour
- Bowl 2: beaten eggs
- Bowl 3: breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan and oregano
3. Bread the chicken
- Coat each fillet in flour (shake off excess).
- Dip into the beaten eggs.
- Press into the breadcrumb mixture until fully coated.
4. Cook the chicken choose one method
Pan-frying crispiest:
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Fry fillets 3–5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
Oven-baked (lighter option):
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Place chicken on a baking tray lined with parchment.
- Spray lightly with oil.
- Bake 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway.
Air fryer:
- Cook at 190°C (375°F) for 12–15 minutes.
- Flip halfway through for even crispiness.
Serving Ideas
- Serve with fries, salad, or rice
- Add garlic mayo, ketchup, or honey mustard
- Squeeze lemon on top for extra flavor
