Classic Tuna Noodle Casserole
Ingredients:
- 2 cups egg noodles (cooked and drained)
- 2 cans tuna (drained)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (or cream of celery)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup peas (optional but traditional)
- 1/2 to 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Topping:
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers / chips)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Cook the egg noodles until just tender, then drain them.
- In a large bowl, mix together:
- cooked noodles
- drained tuna
- cream of mushroom soup
- milk
- peas
- shredded cheese
- Season with salt and pepper, and mix well.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Combine breadcrumbs with melted butter, then sprinkle on top.
- Bake for 20–30 minutes, until hot, bubbly, and golden on top.
