 Cheesy Herb Pull-Apart Bread

 Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (or water, about 110°F / 45°C)
  • 3 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 egg (optional, for richer dough)

For the filling:

  • 3–4 tbsp softened butter
  • 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil (or Italian seasoning)
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • 1 ½ to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

 Instructions

1. Make the dough

  • Mix warm milk + sugar + yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour, salt, melted butter, and egg.
  • Knead until smooth (8–10 minutes).
  • Cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled.

2. Prepare garlic herb butter

  • Mix softened butter + garlic + herbs + a pinch of salt.

3. Shape the bread

  • Roll dough into a rectangle.
  • Spread garlic herb butter evenly.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella + Parmesan on top.
  • Cut into small squares.

4. Assemble

  • Stack or fold dough pieces and place them upright in a greased loaf pan.
  • Cover and let rise 20–30 minutes.

5. Bake

  • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–35 minutes
  • Until golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.

6. Serve

  • Let cool slightly.
  • Pull apart and enjoy while warm and cheesy

Tip

For extra flavor, brush melted garlic butter on top right after baking.
