 Easy Hamburger Potato Casserole

 Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef
  • 4–5 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

  • Set to 180°C (350°F)
  • Grease a baking dish

2. Cook the beef

  • In a pan, cook ground beef + onion
  • Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder
  • Cook until browned, then drain excess fat

3. Prepare sauce

  • In a bowl, mix:
    • cream of mushroom soup
    • milk
    • paprika

4. Layer the casserole

  • Layer half of the sliced potatoes
  • Add half of the beef mixture
  • Pour some sauce
  • Repeat layers

5. Bake

  • Cover with foil
  • Bake 45–50 minutes (until potatoes are tender)

6. Add cheese

  • Remove foil
  • Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top
  • Bake another 10–15 minutes until melted and bubbly

 Tips

  • Slice potatoes very thin so they cook faster
  • Add a little mozzarella for extra stretch
  • You can add veggies like carrots or peas

Serving Idea

Serve hot with a simple salad or bread—perfect comfort food
