Baked Creamy Tomato Basil Chicken
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14–15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F)
2. Season & sear the chicken
- Season chicken with salt and pepper
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sear chicken for 5–7 minutes per side until golden
- Remove and set aside
3. Make the creamy tomato sauce
- In the same pan, sauté garlic for about 1 minute
- Add diced tomatoes and cook for 2–3 minutes
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir well
- Add Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and basil
- Let it simmer until creamy
This sauce combines tomatoes, cream, garlic, and basil for a rich flavor
4. Bake everything together
- Place chicken in a baking dish
- Pour the creamy tomato sauce over the chicken
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until fully cooked
5. Serve
- Garnish with extra fresh basil
- Serve with rice, pasta, or roasted vegetables
Tips
- Add mozzarella on top before baking for a cheesy version
- Serve over pasta for a restaurant-style meal
- You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts
