 Perfect Fluffy Rice Recipe

 Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice (basmati or long-grain preferred)
  • 1½ to 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil or butter (optional)

 Instructions

1. Rinse the rice

  • Place the rice in a bowl with water
  • Wash it 2–3 times until the water becomes clear
    This removes excess starch and prevents sticky rice

2. Boil the water

  • In a pot, add water, salt, and oil
  • Bring it to a boil

3. Cook the rice

  • Add the rice to the boiling water
  • Reduce heat to low
  • Cover the pot and cook for 15–18 minutes
    Do not stir while cooking

4. Let it rest

  • Turn off the heat
  • Let the rice sit covered for 5–10 minutes
    This helps make it light and fluffy

5. Serve

  • Fluff the rice gently with a fork
  • Serve with chicken, meat, or vegetables

 Tips for perfect rice

  •  Too much water = mushy rice
  •  Don’t keep opening the lid
  •  Proper rinsing = better texture
