Cheesy Steak & Rice Skillet – Rich, Savory & One-Pan Simple!

 Ingredients:

  • 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 1½ cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or mozzarella)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

 Instructions:

  1. Sear the steak
    Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    Add steak cubes, season with salt and pepper, and sear for 2–3 minutes until browned.
    Remove from skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté aromatics
    In the same pan, melt butter.
    Add chopped onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft.
    Stir in garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add rice & seasoning
    Pour in the uncooked rice, paprika, and thyme.
    Stir well to coat the rice with the flavors.
  4. Cook the rice
    Add beef broth and bring to a gentle boil.
    Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15–18 minutes until rice is tender.
  5. Combine everything
    Return the steak to the skillet and mix well.
    Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, cover, and let it melt for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Serve
    Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot. Enjoy your rich, cheesy skillet meal!

  • Use brown rice (adjust cooking time and liquid).
