Cheesy Ground Beef & Zucchini Casserole
Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 2 medium zucchinis, cut into chunks
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup cream (cooking cream)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp dried oregano
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Cook the zucchini
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan.
- Add zucchini pieces and sauté 4–5 minutes until lightly golden.
- Remove and set aside.
- Cook the beef mixture
- In the same pan, add the remaining olive oil.
- Sauté onion and garlic for 1–2 minutes.
- Add ground beef, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
- Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
- Prepare the base
- In a baking dish, pour the cream.
- Add half of the mozzarella and cheddar as a bottom layer.
- Assemble
- Add the sautéed zucchini.
- Spread the cooked beef evenly on top.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese over everything.
- Bake
- Bake for 15–20 minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden.
- Serve hot
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Tips
- You can add sliced mushrooms or bell peppers.
- For extra flavor, sprinkle some parmesan on top before baking.
