Quick Pickled Red Onions (Ready in Minutes)

 Ingredients

  • 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vinegar (white vinegar or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) hot water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt

 Instructions

  1. Slice the onion into thin rings or half-moons.
  2. Place the sliced onions in a clean jar or bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the hot water, vinegar, sugar, and salt until everything dissolves.
  4. Pour the liquid over the onions, making sure they are fully covered.
  5. Let sit for 10–15 minutes before using.
