Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes

Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes

 Ingredients

  • 2 ribeye steaks (or sirloin)
  • 4 medium potatoes, diced (baby potatoes work best)
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or rosemary)
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

 Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes
    • Wash and dice potatoes into small cubes.
    • Boil them in salted water for about 8–10 minutes (just until slightly tender).
    • Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak
    • Pat steaks dry.
    • Season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Cook the potatoes
    • Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add potatoes and cook for 8–10 minutes until golden and crispy.
    • Add half of the garlic and a little butter, stir, then remove and set aside.
  4. Cook the steak
    • In the same pan, add remaining olive oil and sear the steak for:
      • 3–4 minutes per side (medium-rare)
      • Adjust time depending on thickness
    • Add butter, remaining garlic, and thyme.
  5. Garlic butter finish
    • Spoon the melted garlic butter over the steak continuously for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Combine & serve
    • Return potatoes to the pan briefly to coat in the garlic butter.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley.

 Tips

  • Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing (keeps it juicy).
  • Use cast iron pan for best flavor.
  • Add chili flakes if you like a little heat
