No-Bake Chocolate Biscuit Layered Dessert

A rich, creamy, no-oven dessert made with chocolate custard and soft biscuit layers. Easy, budget-friendly, and perfect for making ahead.

Ingredients

Chocolate Cream (Custard)

  • 1 liter milk
  • 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 200 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Layers

  • Petit Beurre or Maria biscuits (tea biscuits)
  • A small bowl of milk for dipping the biscuits

Topping (optional)

Cocoa powder

  • Chocolate shavings or chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine the milk, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and sugar. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the mixture into a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly until it thickens into a custard.
  3. Remove from heat. Add the dark chocolate, butter, and vanilla. Stir until fully melted and smooth. The cream should be thick and glossy.
  4. Assemble the dessert in a glass dish:
    • Quickly dip each biscuit in milk (do not soak).
    • Arrange a layer of biscuits in the dish.
    • Spread a layer of chocolate cream over the biscuits.
    • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with chocolate cream on top.
  5. Dust with cocoa powder and decorate with chocolate shavings or chips.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (overnight is even better) until fully set.

Tips for Best Results

  • Dip biscuits very quickly to prevent sogginess.
  • The thicker the cream, the better the layers will hold.
  • This dessert tastes even better the next day.
