- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
For the BBQ Glaze
- 1½ cups BBQ sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Ribs
- Preheat the oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs using a paper towel for a better grip.
- Pat the ribs dry with paper towels.
Step 2: Season the Ribs
- Rub both sides of the ribs with olive oil.
- In a small bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, cumin, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper.
- Generously coat both sides of the ribs with the seasoning mixture.
Step 3: Bake
- Place the ribs meat-side up on a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Cover tightly with another sheet of aluminum foil, sealing the edges well.
- Bake for 2½ to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bones.
Step 4: Make the BBQ Glaze
- In a small saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard.
- Heat over medium-low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 5: Finish the Ribs
- Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully discard the top foil.
- Brush a generous layer of BBQ glaze over the ribs.
- Increase the oven temperature to 425°F (220°C) or switch to the broiler.
- Bake or broil for 8–10 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized.
- Brush with another layer of BBQ sauce before serving if desired.
