Sticky Honey Garlic Ribs
Ingredients
- 2 lbs (900 g) pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- Optional garnish: sesame seeds, chopped green onions
Instructions
1) Prep the ribs
- Preheat oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Remove the thin membrane from the back of the ribs for tenderness.
- Pat dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, and paprika.
2) Make the honey garlic sauce
- In a bowl, whisk: honey, soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, ketchup, vinegar, and olive oil.
3) First bake (tenderize)
- Line a tray with foil. Place ribs on it and cover tightly with foil.
- Bake for 1 hour 45 minutes until very tender.
4) Glaze & caramelize
- Remove foil. Brush ribs generously with the sauce.
- Increase oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Return ribs uncovered for 15–20 minutes, brushing once more halfway, until sticky and caramelized.
5) Rest & serve
- Rest 5–10 minutes. Slice between bones.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions on top.
Tips for Extra Sticky Ribs
- Simmer leftover sauce 3–5 minutes to thicken, then brush on at the end.
- For charred edges, broil 2–3 minutes (watch closely).
- Best served with rice, fries, or a crisp salad.
