Slow Cooker Pineapple Dump Cake

Slow Cooker Pineapple Dump Cake

This easy dessert is rich, buttery, fruity, and perfect when you want something simple with almost no prep. Most versions use only 3–5 ingredients and cook right in the crockpot.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple or pineapple tidbits, undrained
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted or sliced thin
  • Optional:
    • maraschino cherries
    • brown sugar
    • chopped pecans or coconut
    • vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Grease the slow cooker lightly.
  2. Pour the pineapple with its juice into the bottom.
  3. If using cherries, scatter them over the pineapple.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly on top — do not stir.
  5. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix, covering as much as possible.
  6. Cook on High for 2–3 hours or Low for 4 hours, until bubbly and golden around the edges.
  7. Let cool for about 15–20 minutes before serving.

Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Tips

  • Adding brown sugar gives it a pineapple upside-down cake flavor.
  • Dump cakes are more like a gooey cobbler than a fluffy traditional cake.
  • Lemon cake mix or coconut can give it a tropical twist.
