 Delish Chocolate Cake (Moist & Rich)

 Ingredients

For the cake:

  • 1 and 3/4 cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup (65g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups (400g) sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) hot coffee or hot water (coffee makes it richer!)

 Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour two 9-inch cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients: flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla.
    Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Slowly add the hot coffee (or water).
    The batter will be thin — that’s perfect!
  5. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Optional Chocolate Frosting

  • 1/2 cup butter (softened)
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Beat everything together until creamy and fluffy, then spread between layers and on top.

 Tips for the best cake:

  • Don’t skip the hot coffee — it boosts chocolate flavor without tasting like coffee.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting.
  • For extra richness, add chocolate chips to the batter.
