Cheesy Herb Pull-Apart Bread
Ingredients
For the dough:
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm milk (or water, about 110°F / 45°C)
- 3 tbsp melted butter
- 1 egg (optional, for richer dough)
For the filling:
- 3–4 tbsp softened butter
- 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil (or Italian seasoning)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 ½ to 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. Make the dough
- Mix warm milk + sugar + yeast. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, melted butter, and egg.
- Knead until smooth (8–10 minutes).
- Cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled.
2. Prepare garlic herb butter
- Mix softened butter + garlic + herbs + a pinch of salt.
3. Shape the bread
- Roll dough into a rectangle.
- Spread garlic herb butter evenly.
- Sprinkle mozzarella + Parmesan on top.
- Cut into small squares.
4. Assemble
- Stack or fold dough pieces and place them upright in a greased loaf pan.
- Cover and let rise 20–30 minutes.
5. Bake
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–35 minutes
- Until golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly.
6. Serve
- Let cool slightly.
- Pull apart and enjoy while warm and cheesy
Tip
For extra flavor, brush melted garlic butter on top right after baking.
