Creamy Chicken Lasagna
A rich, cheesy, ultra-creamy baked lasagna made with tender chicken, creamy white sauce, and layers of pasta and cheese.
Ingredients
Chicken filling:
- 2 cups cooked chicken breast (shredded)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Creamy sauce :
- 3 tbsp butter
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2½ cups milk
- 1 cup heavy cream (or cooking cream)
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp nutmeg (optional but recommended)
Other:
- 9–12 lasagna sheets (pre-cooked or no-boil)
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
- ½ cup parmesan cheese
- 1 cup ricotta or cream cheese (optional for extra creaminess)
Instructions
1. Prepare the chicken
Heat olive oil in a pan, add garlic, then chicken, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 3–5 minutes. Set aside.
2. Make the creamy sauce
In a saucepan:
- Melt butter
- Add flour and whisk for 1 minute
- Slowly pour milk + cream while whisking
- Cook until thick and smooth
- Add salt, pepper, and nutmeg
3. Assemble the lasagna
In a baking dish:
- Spread a little white sauce
- Add lasagna sheets
- Add chicken mixture
- Add white sauce
- Add mozzarella + parmesan
- Repeat layers (2–3 times)
Top with extra cheese.
4. Bake
- Preheat oven: 180°C (350°F)
- Bake for 30–40 minutes
- Rest 10 minutes before serving
